The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of behavioral health and a commitment to supporting individuals struggling with substance use disorders. As an Addiction Counselor, you will play a crucial role in guiding clients through their recovery journey, utilizing evidence-based practices and therapeutic techniques. Duties Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate clients’ needs and develop individualized treatment plans. Provide one-on-one counseling sessions utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and other therapeutic modalities. Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensuring compliance with ICD-10 and ICD-9 coding standards. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and case management for clients. Facilitate group therapy sessions to promote peer support and shared experiences among clients. Monitor client progress through data collection and documentation, adjusting treatment plans as necessary. Educate clients and their families about addiction, recovery processes, and available resources for support. Advocate for clients within the healthcare system to ensure they receive appropriate services. Requirements A degree in psychology, social work, or a related field is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology related to addiction treatment. Familiarity with case management practices and behavioral health systems. Experience in clinical counseling or direct care with individuals facing addiction challenges is highly desirable. Proficiency in data collection methods relevant to client assessment and treatment outcomes. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds. Certification or licensure as an addiction counselor is a plus but not mandatory for entry-level positions.
