Educational & Theological A minimum of a bachelor’s degree (while a counseling degree, graduate degree, certification, or psychiatric nursing experience would be a plus).
Amitment to the authority, inerrancy and sufficiency of Scripture.
Ascribes without reservation to the basic tenets of the Apostles’ Creed.
Is in essential agreement with Reformed theology, especially that 1) God is sovereign over all things, 2) salvation ispletely aplished by God through Christ, rather than by man, and 3) a believer’s salvation is eternally secure, through the unmerited love of God. Ministry Experience, Skills and Stance A minimum of three years of experience in biblical or Christian counseling that demonstrates a depth and breadth of counselingpetency.
A minimum of one year being under counseling supervision/training, again, either in a ministry or professional setting.
A minimum of one year in a leadership or supervisory role in a counseling-related ministry or workplace.
Experienced as amunicator with strong verbal and writtenmunication skills.
Agrees that biblical-based counseling can conservatively and effectively integrate various psychological theories and can be a beneficial tool that God has allowed caregivers to master.
Has a basic knowledge of psychiatric medications and psychiatric disorders, per the DSM5.
An acceptance of (but not overreliance upon) psychiatric medication as being allowed by God for our good maintenance of physical and emotional health.
Would collaborate with the psychiatrist or doctor when our residents see them, and the Director as needed as the Refuge’s representative.
Has at least intermediateputer and keyboard skills and isfortable with virtual counseling (zoom). Character Has a mature and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Has an exemplary personal life as expressed within her family, marriage (if married), friends, church andmunity.
Skillful and at ease in developing and maintaining healthy relationships with various challenging people and personality types; has a genuine heart andpassion for others.
Able to manage conflict resolution in a group setting.
Proven ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive client and ministry information.
Committed to teamwork with the Executive Director, staff, volunteers and the Refuge’s Board of Directors.
