FULL TIME
Behavioral Health Technicians (BHT) to join our dedicated team in Fort Myers, FL working primarily the 11a-7p shift . As a BHT at White Sands, you’ll play a vital role in our patients recovery journey. You’ll collaborate closely with our clinical team and assist patients during detoxification and ensuring that all care is delivered with excellence and compassion. This position

CANDIDATES MUST POSSESS A VALID DRIVERS LICENSE.
What You’ll Do:
Ensure patient assignments and responsibilities are clearly understood and actively in progress. Accurately document patient issues, progress, challenges, therapeutic strategies, and areas of resistance. Track and report patient progress in alignment with individualized treatment goals and objectives. Support patients in developing group participation and interpersonal communication skills. Address and manage maladaptive or problematic behaviors in a therapeutic manner. Foster an environment that encourages open communication and self-disclosure. Adhere strictly to established schedules and timeframes. Assist patients in gaining insight into underlying issues contributing to their challenges. Provide patients with clear, constructive feedback regarding their progress from both the therapist’s and treatment team’s perspectives. Enforce program policies and procedures consistently and respectfully. Appropriately confront behaviors that hinder therapeutic progress. Communicate effectively and respectfully with patients to establish rapport and mutual trust. Demonstrate adaptability in working with a diverse patient population. Assess and identify individual patient strengths and areas for growth. Maintain professional boundaries at all times. Apply the program’s clinical philosophy consistently in therapeutic interactions. Connect patients with appropriate internal and external resources to support recovery and well-being. Assist patients in managing external stressors (e.g., legal, financial, vocational) that may impact recovery, in accordance with the treatment plan. Exhibit sound judgment and strategic thinking in problem-solving situations. Ensure all documentation is timely, accurate, clear, and aligned with clinical standards. Safeguard the confidentiality and security of all clinical records. Prepare patients for continued success and stability post-discharge. Contribute relevant clinical observations to support the development of individualized discharge plans that ensure ongoing care and support.
About You:
High School Diploma or equivalent Associates Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Health Science, Behavioral Health (helpful but not required) Valid Class “E” Drivers License One to Two years of work experience in substance abuse and/or mental health field (preferred but not required) Excellent judgment, organizational skills, and a passion for helping others Must be a local candidate able to work on site in Fort Myers, FL Start your career with benefits! 401(k)
