Therapy and Counselling In caregiving, therapy and counseling play crucial roles inaddressing the emotional, psychological, and mental well-being ofindividuals receiving care. Responsibility Conduct thorough assessments of clients’ mental health,emotional well-being, and any specific challenges they may befacing. Evaluate clients’ strengths, weaknesses, and needs to createpersonalized treatment plans. Provide one-on-one counseling sessions to address clients’concerns and help them navigate challenges. Be prepared to handle crisis situations and provide immediateintervention when necessary. Apply a variety of counseling approaches and techniques, suchas cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy(DBT), and mindfulness-based therapies. Demonstrate empathy and active listening skills to establish atrusting and therapeutic relationship with clients. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discussclient cases and treatment strategies. Regularly monitor and evaluate clients’ progress, adjustingtreatment plans as needed. Maintain accurate and confidential client records, documentingprogress, sessions, and treatment plans. Educate clients about mental health, coping mechanisms, andstrategies for self-improvement. Requirements Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, SocialWork, or a related field. State licensure or certification as a mental healthprofessional (e.g., Licensed Professional Counselor, LicensedClinical Social Worker, Psychologist). Specialized training in therapeutic modalities such asCognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy(DBT), or other evidence-based practices. Demonstrated experience in providing therapy and counselingservices, preferably in a caregiving or healthcare setting. Proficiency in conducting comprehensive mental healthassessments and developing individualized treatment plans. Adherence to a strong code of ethics, ensuring clientconfidentiality, informed consent, and maintaining professionalboundaries. Ability to create a safe and supportive environment forindividuals who may have experienced trauma.
