Please note:

Regardless of the hours of the position, the selected candidate will have to be available to complete 2 weeks of training, Monday-Friday during the hours of 8:00am-5:00pm, upon hire.

Overview:

Licensed Mobile Response Team performs crisis intervention, risk assessment and referral services for individuals in the community that are experiencing a mental health crisis. The LMHP will be part of the Mobile Response Team and will function as a crisis counselor responding via phone and is mobile, responding to where the crisis is taking place, such as at a school (all levels), community location or home. Works cooperatively with law enforcement and schools. The LMRTC will strive to avert psychiatric hospitalization though crisis intervention but may initiate the Baker Act or Marchman Act for involuntary examination when appropriate. The LMRTC will make referrals and help to connect individuals with community resources and treatment. The LMRTC will conduct risk assessments and document in Apalachee Center’s electronic medical record. The LMRTC can also assist the Central Receiving Facility when minors are brought in by parents and need Baker Act evaluations. Experience working with children and adults preferred. The LMRTC will also serve as back-up for our Licensed Mental Health Professionals on the Tallahassee Emergency Assessment Mobile (TEAM) unit, which includes being a part of a 2-person team with Tallahassee Police Department officers, operating off-site and will be dispatched to the community through 9-1-1.

ESSENTIAL/CORE JOB-SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Functions as a practicing clinician on the Mobile Response Team. Provides crisis services on-site and in the community.
Coordinates the crisis counseling response per Agency protocol.
Complies with all program policies and procedures.
Conducts clinical assessments and provide direct clinical intervention and referral services, including “warm hand-off” to other providers as directed in policy.
Provides crisis intervention counseling and risk assessment.
Collects collateral information from families and other sources to complete risk assessment.
Initiates Baker Act and Marchman Act examinations when appropriate.
Links clients served with services and other resources.
Provides follow-up outreach per MRT protocols.
Maintains all required documentation in accordance with Clinical Record Handbook specifications or Agency policies and procedures.
Consults with inpatient and outpatient staff about referrals as needed.
Perform as back-up for the Licensed Mental Health Professionals on the TEAM unit.
Perform other duties as needed.

Shift:

8:00am-8:00pm, 12 hour

Days Qualifications Education/Experience:

A minimum of two (2) years of work experience in mental health field, including at least one year of crisis counseling/management.

Licensure or Certification:

LCSW, LMHC, or clinical PhD required.
Must maintain current CPR, CPI and First Aid certifications. Must possess a valid Florida driver’s license and maintain Center approval as an Authorized Driver.
