Job Summary:
The Intake Specialist is a vital part of the clinical team, responsible for facilitating the initial engagement process for new clients entering our behavioral health program. This role includes conducting comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, running therapeutic groups, and carrying a small individual caseload. The ideal candidate is clinically competent, organized, and passionate about supporting individuals with mental health and/or substance use disorders.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct intake assessments and biopsychosocial evaluations to determine appropriate levels of care. Facilitate initial orientation and support the onboarding process for new clients. Develop preliminary treatment plans based on client needs and diagnostic impressions. Lead psychoeducational and/or therapeutic groups as assigned. Carry a small caseload (2-3 clients) and provide individual therapy and case management as needed. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of care. Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with agency standards and regulatory requirements. Participate in clinical team meetings, supervision, and ongoing training. Support crisis intervention and risk assessment as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field (Master’s preferred). State licensure or eligibility (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or equivalent preferred). Minimum 1-2 years of experience in behavioral health, substance use, or related setting. Strong knowledge of mental health and co-occurring disorders. Skilled in conducting clinical assessments and group facilitation. Proficient in electronic health records and documentation. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
