Grief Care Counselor-Licensed Job

The Grief Care Counselor:

1. Provide counseling to community clients who are coping with an end stage or chronic illness or who have been affected by a traumatic death.
2. Assess the social and emotional factors related to the illness or death and uses clinically proven interventions to minimize psychological distress.
3. Attend all counseling center meetings and other meetings as requested.
4. Maintain all clinical records in the electronic medical record, ensuring clinical documentation is completed daily and follows all organizational and regulatory requirements.
5. Develop and facilitate support groups and retreats that support the needs of the counseling center clients.
6. Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager of Tidewell Grief Care or Senior Vice President of Innovation and Community Health.

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Education and/or
Experience:

Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from a school of Social Work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education preferred; or Master’s degree from a clinical counseling program such as mental health

    Licensure:

    LCSW preferred, will consider LMHC or LMFT and Valid Florida State Driver’s License

      Continuing Education:

      As required for licensure.

      • Bi-lingual preferred
      • The ability to type 25 wpm is highly preferred. Must receive a passing grade on a pre-employment computer literacy evaluation.
      • For field-based positions, employees must have reliable transportation which will enable them to perform tasks and responsibilities in a timely and appropriate fashion.

      Must provide proof of valid automobile insurance, a copy of which will be placed in the employee’s HR file.

      Weekly Schedule:
