Central Access Clinician – Behavioral Health Crisis & Triage Specialist Full-time | Mon – Fri, Alternating shifts: 7:15am-4:00pm or 9:15am-6:00pm Are you passionate about making a real impact in the lives of individuals facing mental health and substance use challenges? Do you thrive in fast-paced environments where every decision matters? Claratel Behavioral Health is looking for a Central Access Clinician to join our frontline team of behavioral health heroes. You’ll be the vital first voice of support for individuals in crisis, helping guide them toward the care they need.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Be the calm in the storm—triaging crisis and routine calls with empathy, clinical precision, and care. Assess high-risk situations involving suicide, homicide, or life-threatening behavior. Match clients to the right level of care using your knowledge of psychiatric symptoms and substance use (ASAM criteria). Link clients to our Mobile Crisis Unit and DeKalb Regional Crisis Center (DRCC) when appropriate. Manage and update our Central Intake calendar and ensure cases are properly followed up and closed out. Collaborate with GCAL and other partners for urgent and emergent response coordination. Engage callers with compassion and professionalism, using strong clinical judgment throughout.
What We’re Looking For:
Master’s Degree in Social Work, Professional Counseling, or a related field.
Preferred Licensure:
LCSW, LPC, or LMFT (Georgia Composite Board). Minimum of 2yrs of experience in behavioral health or social services (case management, counseling, call center, etc.). Skilled in working with adults experiencing mental health and substance use disorders; familiarity with child/adolescent issues is a plus. Strong multi-tasker, computer-savvy, and confident in high-pressure situations. Prior behavioral health call center experience highly preferred.
