How you make adifference:
The Licensed Mental Health Professional Master’s atArizona Department of Corrections (ARDOC) provides mental healthservices to patients using evidence-based practices, includingscreening, diagnostic evaluations, and therapeutic interventionssuch as brief therapy and crisis intervention. They adhere to allapplicable licensure standards, state and federal rules andregulations, and work under the direction of the Program Managerand Clinical Supervisor. Overall, the Licensed Mental HealthProfessional Master’s (ARDOC) plays a critical role in providingquality mental health care to patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Conductintake evaluations, assessments, and triage for patients referredby Security, Healthcare staff, and Community sources, and provideappropriate recommendations to the healthcare unit and securitystaff for required level of care.
Provide various treatmentservices, such as psychoeducational groups, substance abusecounseling, and transitional groups, develop treatment plans,conduct suicide risk assessments, and provide crisis interventionand management techniques for high-risk patients.
Oversee theclinical needs of patients on the caseload, provide consultation tohealthcare and security staff regarding patients’ behaviors andsafety concerns, and provide linkage and discharge planningservices when necessary.
Work effectively with all staff, providestaff training on relevant mental health topics, document allfindings in the patient’s health record, and provide services incompliance with Facility and company Safety and Mental HealthPolicies and Procedures.
Participate in Peer Review activities,staff training, assist in the job shadow portion of the interviewprocess of potential staff, and be responsible for the successfultraining and performance evaluations of direct reports.
