• Cleveland, TN /n/n A master’s degree with licensure as a LPC, LCSW,LADC, or LMFT is required.

/n/n The role of the counselor is toassess, evaluate and coordinate mental health care for incarceratedindividuals and formulate individualized release plans tocoordinate a continuum of care.

Responsibilities:

/n/n /n/t

• Assesses psychiatric emergencies and provides crisisintervention to emotionally distressed and mentally ill inmates/n/t
• Conducts evaluations of inmates for the purpose of suicideintervention and prevention /n/t
• Coordinates inmate care withFacility, and medical staff to ensure inmates’ special needs areaddressed /n/t
• MAT/substance abuse counseling /n/t
• DevelopsIndividualized Treatment Plans for psychiatric inmates who requireintensive behavior management; completes referrals to Provider formedication management services /n/t
• Promotes linkages withcommunity mental health agencies, other support services andfamilies for inmate care and coordination for continuum of care;including discharge planning; collaborates with community healthproviders for inmates who are enrolled clients /n/t
• Completesinmate need assessments and develops individualized release plansfor inmates suffering from mental illness to connect inmates withappropriate services in the community /n/t
• Maintains the safetyand security of staff and inmates when making clinical decisionsregarding inmates /n/t
• Participates in on-call responsibilitiesfor off-hours MHP coverage /n/t
• Provides mental health trainingfor jail staff as needed /n/t
• Completes other job duties asassigned /n /nQualifications /n/t
• A Master’s Degree in SocialWork, clinical psychology, psychiatric nursing, or related field;OR, any equivalent combination of training and/or experience thatprovides the required knowledge and abilities. /n/t
• Licensed as aSocial Worker, Marriage/Family Therapist, Mental Health Counseloror Licensed Professional Counselor required.
