JPHSA is responsible for the management and operation of behavioral health and developmental disability Services in Jefferson Parish. JPHSA provides fully integrated primary and behavioral healthcare services through its JeffCare program. The Behavioral Health Community Services (BHCS) Division provides a continuum of community-based behavioral health and supportive programs to assist individuals in their recovery from mental illness and/or addictive disorders. The Eunoia Center operates as one part of the Louisiana Crisis Response System, serving as the Behavioral Health Crisis Care (BHCC) for Jefferson Parish. The BHCC operating operates, twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week as a walk-in center providing short-term behavioral health crisis intervention, offering a community-based voluntary home-like alternative to more restrictive settings (i.e. Hospitals). BHCC Centers are designed to offer recovery-oriented and time-limited services up to twenty-three (23) hours per intervention and enable a member to return home with community-based services for support or to be transitioned to a higher level of care as appropriate if the crisis is unable to be resolved Responsibilities Provide screening, assessment, intervention, and care coordination Performs risk evaluation to assess risk of suicide, self-injury, neglect, and violence Ensures program guidelines are clearly understood by individuals during intake Engages with family or supports who are present at intake and/or assessment process with individual’s permission Assists in de-escalating crisis situations with individuals, as needed Completes assessments, progress notes, collateral contacts, including telephone call, on the day of service Provides supervision to non-licensed staff (peer support specialist) and completes Office Behavioral Health approved Peer Specialist Supervisor Training within six months of hire Qualifications & Skills Registration as either a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Louisiana Willingness to work weekends and overnights from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. U.S. work authorization Background screening required Outstanding interpersonal skills to communicate and interact effectively at different levels with different audiences Familiarity with principles of trauma-informed care and crisis response Ability to work in a culturally competent way and consistently treat all with dignity and respect Great time management with organizational skills required to set priorities and manage workload Experience with electronic health records (EHR) Compensation & More Competitive compensation Free, nearby parking Tobacco-free environment Filtered water stations Receive Form 1099 as independent contractor Contact For more information about this position, submit your resume or contact Mark Zinter, Human Resource Specialist, at .
