Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Mental Health Clinician shall follow the SheriffsOffice chain of command policy and work under the supervision of theMental Health Director.
STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Shall assist inthe care and custody of inmates detained or sentenced to the NorfolkCounty Correctional Center, or related programs. Shall provideassessment & case management/stabilization to the inmate population.
Shall perform mental health screenings as necessary to identify those inneed of mental health treatment. Shall serve as a liaison to theconsultant Psychiatrist and the forensic mental health department oninmate mental health issues. Shall provide specialized cognitivebehavioral treatment to the MAT and substance use population. Shallprovide individual and group treatment specific to clinical needs,specialized populations, new initiatives and programs. Shall workclosely with all disciplines (program staff, security staff, medicalstaff, etc.) on issues of inmate care. Shall maintain confidential filesand statistics on all inmate encounters, mental health referrals, andtreatment services provided. Shall ensure mental health services are incompliance with ACA, NCCHC and DOC standards. Shall ensure continuity ofcare for the chronically mentally ill inmates from admission todischarge. Shall evaluate referred patients, follow-up as indicated, anddocument in medical records. Shall conduct restrictive housing unitinmate rounds and complete all appropriate/necessary paperwork. Shallevaluate all psychiatric patients housed in the Health Services Unit toinclude disposition. Shall conduct discharge planning for inmatesreceiving mental health services. Shall assist in special projects asrequired. Shall perform administrative tasks (including attendingmeetings) and paperwork duties/assignments in a timely and professionalmanner. Shall perform other duties as assigned by the Mental HealthDirector. The Sheriff of Norfolk County reserves the right to add ordelete from these responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Masters degreerequired. Related licensure (LMHC, LICSW, must be independentlylicensed). Correctional Mental Health experienced preferred. Must have aworking knowledge of computers. Must have knowledge of medical recordsin accordance with minimum standards. Must have the ability to work in afast-paced office environment. Must have a valid Massachusetts driverslicenses

HOURS OF WORK
40 hours per week with 2 evening shift oras assigned by the Director of Mental Health and/or designee. Everyother regular Saturday shifts are required, as well as holidays, eveningcoverage.
