Communication skills Full Job Description Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Technician to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals facing mental health challenges, ensuring their safety and well-being while assisting with their treatment plans. You will work closely with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to promote recovery and enhance the quality of life for those you serve. Responsibilities Provide direct patient care, including monitoring behavior and emotional well-being. Assist in the implementation of treatment plans under the supervision of licensed professionals. Engage with patients using motivational interviewing techniques to encourage participation in their care. Collect and document data on patient progress, behaviors, and responses to interventions. Support individuals with developmental disabilities and autism through tailored care strategies. Facilitate crisis management interventions when necessary, ensuring a safe environment for all. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop effective care strategies for patients with PTSD and other mental health conditions. Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, adhering to all safety protocols. Qualifications Experience working with individuals with disabilities or mental health challenges is preferred. Knowledge of applied behavior analysis techniques is a plus. Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with patients of all ages, including pediatrics. Familiarity with crisis management strategies and techniques for de-escalation. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while also being capable of independent decision-making. Compassionate demeanor and a genuine desire to help others improve their mental health. A background in psychology or related fields is beneficial but not required.
