    The Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit in Sanford is a 40 bed, locked unit that provides a 24 hour treatment program designed to provide care for adults ages 18-95 in acute psychiatric crisis.

The multidisciplinary team treats individuals experiencing major mental illnesses and addiction related problems. The program includes voluntary and involuntary levels of care.
Our team of mental health professionals plan and work together with the patient to provide psychiatric care, medical treatment, support, referral for follow-up care, and opportunities for learning and emotional growth.
MaineHealth Behavioral Health at Spring Harbor Hospital
Set on 50 private acres, Behavioral Health at Spring Harbor, is southern Maine’s only private psychiatric treatment and recovery center. Our inpatient programs for children, adolescents, adults, and older adults providehope for those who suffer from a variety of mental illnesses and co-occurring disorders (mental illness and substance use),as well as, Maine’s only hospital treatment unit for youth who experience both mental illness and a developmental disorder, such as autism.
We are fortunate to have a unique collaboration with Maine Medical Center, which allows us to offer the most complete array of psychiatric treatment, physician-training, and medical-research programs north of Boston.
Summary

Level I:

The role of Behavioral Health Clinician I, working under a conditional license, involves providing comprehensive care and support to clients with behavioral health needs. The key responsibilities include conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and providing direct care through individual, group, and family therapy sessions. The counselor is also responsible for maintaining clinical records, collaborating with community providers, and participating in team meetings to ensure effective treatment and discharge planning. The Behavioral Health Clinician I will be under direct clinical supervision to work towards independent licensure.

Level II:

The role of Behavioral Health Clinician II, working under an independent license, involves providing comprehensive care and support to clients with behavioral health needs. The key responsibilities include conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and providing direct care through individual, group, and family therapy sessions.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

Education:

Master’s Degree in Social Work, Clinical Counseling, Addiction Treatment, or related field

License/Certifications:
Level I:

LMSW-cc, LCPC-c, or LMFT-c from the respective licensing board of the State of Maine Office of Professional and Occupational Regulation (OPOR).

Level II:

Licensed LCPC, LCSW, or LMFT from the respective licensing board of the State of Maine Office of Professional and Occupational Regulation (OPOR)

Experience:
Level I:

Behavioral health experience including internship prior to becoming a conditionally licensed clinician.

Level II:

At least two years of behavioral health experience including employment as a conditionally licensed clinician.
