Behavioral Health Support Staff 4.4 4.4 out of 5 stars 1 Delta Drive, Westbrook, ME 04092 We are currently offering a full-time position for an individual who has an educational background in behavioral health. The candidate would become licensed as a ADCA (Alcohol Drug Counseling Aide) through licensing in the State of Maine. The candidate would work under the CAP Clinical Supervisor. Full training would be provided and once the candidate meets criteria, they would then sit for their CADC (Certified Alcohol Drug Counseling) license. Peer Recovery Coach encouraged to apply. The agency pays for licensure renewal, as well as some CEU requirements. Great patient centered environment with early hours and some weekends are required. Previous work in the Substance Abuse field is required.
Summery of Duties :
Conduct screening to determine a person’s appropriateness and eligibility for admission to treatment. Assist with intakes, re-instatements, re-admissions and transfers for admissions. Assist with assessments to identify and evaluate patients’ strengths, weaknesses problems and needs. Assist with treatment plans with patients, establishing agreed upon immediate, short term and long-term goals and identify the treatment methods and resources to be utilized in achieving these goals. Assist with providing referrals when a patients treatment needs cannot be fully met at this agency. Assisting the patient in using his/her support systems and available community resources. Provide case management to bring services, agencies, and resources together within a planned framework of action to facilitate the achievement of established treatment goals. Provide crisis intervention, responding to patient needs during acute emotional and/or physical distress. Be aware of patients and guest in the building and respond to verbal and non-verbal behavior when necessary.
Requirements:
Behavioral health education required, or equivalent to obtain an ADCA certificate. Associate and or bachelor’s degree in behavioral sciences or addiction counseling. To include psychology, social and behavioral sciences, and/or counseling degrees.
