POSITION SUMMARY
This position reports to the AdultAmbulatory Coordinator and/or to the Director of the Service andthe Medical Director. Provides direct and indirect clinicalservices to adults in need of mental health care and is responsiblefor treatment of the client and provision of age-appropriate care.
Core skills may include crisis assessment, intake assessment,individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, treatmentplanning, case management, team/community collaboration,patient/family education and triage/discharge planning. As skillsets permits, may provide flexible coverage to another servicewithin Behavioral Health on a short-term basis. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION
Thisposition requires a Masters degree and Connecticut licensure as alicensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Alcohol and DrugCounselor (LADC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), orLicensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). Incumbents inspecific assignments must posess and maintain a valid driverslicense with public passenger endorsement, maintain a drivingrecord free of any violations and pass a safe driving educationalprogram upon hire and annually thereafter in order to participatein the Fleet Vehicle Program as outlined in the Eastern ConnecticutHealth Networks Environment of Care Safety Policies and Procedures110.
EXPERIENCE
Level of care and age-specific competencies arerequired. Training and/or familiarity with Dialectical BehavioralTherapy (DBT), familiarity with abuse and neglect reporting andduty-to-warn mandates, knowledge of community-based resources andexperience with pre-authorization and billing processes ispreferred.
COMPETENCIES
This position requires computer competencywith basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook, strong clinicalskills including a demonstrated team orientation, and strongwritten as well as verbal communication skills using the Englishlanguage. Must be flexible in approach so that service•specific aswell as overall system needs can be met. Must be able to functioneffectively and, at times, independently in an environment wheremulti-tasking is necessary.

Performs conscientiously andproductively and fulfills responsibilities without reminder, asevidenced by direct observation, and chart audit. Exercises goodjudgment in seeking help and when acting independently, asevidenced by direct observation and individual and/or groupsupervision. Facilitates skill development by careful planning ofDBT groups and implementation of DBT, as evidenced by directobservation, documentation of progress and/or individual or groupsupervision. Completes all requested forms, letters anddocumentation requirements with accuracy and thoroughness in atimely manner and in accordance with JCAHO, Managed Care and otherstandards with which the program must comply, as evidenced by chartaudit.
