In our organization, these professionals are placed inthe position of Mental Health Therapist to plan and provideclinical mental health services of a non-medical nature in thefacility. The successful candidate should be able to perform ALL ofthe following functions at a pace and level of performanceconsistent with the actual job performance requirements. 1.Conducts mental health screenings and assessments based on a reviewof available records and clinical interviews with inmates. 2.Provides treatment to inmates by developing, implementing andmodifying individual treatment plans based on an evaluation ofneeds and level of functioning. 3. Documents treatment andevaluation activities in the health care record for each personseen. 4. Maintains strict confidentiality of sensitive materialsand information at all times. 5. Demonstrates a thorough knowledgeof psychological counseling theory and techniques by way oftreatments and activities used for individuals in caseload. 6.Provides appropriate mental health assessments, counseling andcrisis interventions to address the needs of inmates.

Qualifications:

• Graduate from an accredited college or universitywith a Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental HealthCounseling or a degree in a related clinical area.
• Five (5) yearsof clinical experience which includes two (2) years in a comparablejob position required.
• Must possess appropriate certification orlicensing in the state where practice occurs. ie., LPC, LCSW, orLMFT
• A valid driver’s license is preferred unless required bycontract or applicable statute.
• Minimum age requirement: Must beat least 18 years of age.
