Description Join Our Team as a Compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor! Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of individuals struggling with opioid use disorder? As a Substance Abuse Counselor , you’ll play a vital role in helping patients navigate their recovery journey. You will provide individual and group counseling, assist with crisis management, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
What You’ll Do:
- Conduct initial assessments and evaluations to determine service eligibility.
- Complete comprehensive bio-psychosocial assessments.
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions at regularly scheduled intervals.
- Support patients in developing coping strategies and crisis management skills.
- Engage families and loved ones in the recovery process whenever possible.
- Participate in patient education initiatives and group activities.
- Work closely with doctors, nurses, and therapists to coordinate care and treatment plans.
What We’re Looking For:
Education:
Master’s degree in the human sciences field.
Licensure:
Full or provisional license in North Carolina (CADC, LCAS, or LCAS-A required).
Experience:
At least one year of experience working with medically assisted treatment (MAT) patients preferred.
Qualities:
Personable, adaptable, and coachable with a deep understanding of patients’ struggles and a passion for helping them recover.
Compliance:
Ability to pass a satisfactory background check and drug screening.
