Counseling LCAS Social Work Full Job Description Status :

Chief Financial Officer Compensation:

$57,000-$65,000 annually, with opportunities for additional performance-based earnings.

OVERVIEW

The therapist is responsible for providing diagnostic assessments, counseling, and substance use support services for a diverse caseload including adults, adolescents, and families experiencing mental health issues, communication challenges, or family conflict. They are required to maintain up to date knowledge of other services and resources within the community and work closely with individuals to provide information and support when required. This position will have responsibility for supporting the provision of on-site therapy services within Mecklenburg County Schools in support of School Based Mental Health Services. When not scheduled to provide services on site within MeckCo Schools, the therapist will provide therapy services at Camino Health Center locations. The focus of the position is tied to the ABC School Based Prevention Services FY 2026 Community Health & Wellness Annual Grant Program. Under this program, priority focus is on providing mental health therapy support and education geared towards SUD prevention for youth and adolescents. Continuation of the position after the grant period will be dependent upon provider productivity.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Establishes positive, trusting rapport with patients.
  • Diagnoses and treats substance addictions and mental health disorders
  • Creates individualized treatment plans according to patient needs and circumstances.
  • Meets with patients regularly to provide counseling, treatment and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  • Meet with and/or communicate with treatment teams as needed.
  • Establish positive rapport with MeckCo School staff and other service providers involved in student care.
  • Conducts ongoing assessments of patient progress.
  • Involves and advises family members when appropriate.
  • Refers patients to outside specialists or agencies when necessary.
  • Maintains thorough records of patient meetings and progress.
  • Follows all safety protocols and maintains client confidentiality.
  • Contributes to practice by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
  • Assures all patient records and documentation meet all local, state, and federal standards.
  • Adheres to agency policy and procedures.
  • Maintains all requirements in adherence to specific licensure.
  • Other duties to support the agency as required.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Bi-lingual, Spanish required
  • Must hold a Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or other appropriate Human Services Field
  • Must hold LCAS or LCAS-A Licensure to practice within the state of North Carolina
