This role is designed for individuals who have personal experience with mental health or substance use challenges and are committed to supporting others on their recovery journey. As a Certified Peer Specialist, you will provide guidance, support, and mentorship to individuals in need, helping them navigate their path to wellness. Responsibilities Provide one-on-one support to clients, fostering a trusting and supportive relationship. Utilize crisis management skills to assist clients during challenging situations. Facilitate group sessions focused on recovery, coping strategies, and life skills. Share personal experiences to inspire hope and motivate clients in their recovery process. Assist clients in developing individualized recovery plans that align with their goals. Engage in mentoring activities that empower clients to take charge of their own recovery. Collaborate with behavioral health professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients. Conduct crisis intervention when necessary, ensuring client safety and well-being. Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions and progress in compliance with organizational policies. Qualifications Certification as a Peer Specialist is required. Strong understanding of mental health and addiction counseling principles. Experience in behavioral health systems and social work is preferred. Proficiency in motivational interviewing techniques to effectively engage clients. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with diverse populations.
