SUMMARY OF DUTIES

Responsible to ensure that competent, safe quality and professional care is provided to each patient accordance with current applicable Federal, State, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. Utilize knowledge of chemical dependency and counseling techniques to introduce effective education and counseling for patients. Interacts and relates with peers and other professionals to assure comprehensive and quality care for the patients. The counselor is responsible for completing Comprehensive Clinical Assessments (CCA) for new and existing clients. The counselor will develop Person-Centered Plans (PCP) and Crisis Plans. The counselor will upload all documentation to appropriate agency. The counselor will make timelines to monitor work for completion The counselor is responsible for the timely upload of all Medicaid/ Medicare related documents to the appropriate LME/MCO provider portal to avoid lapse of authorizations The counselor is responsible for the research, corrections, and re-submission of all denied authorizations and re-authorizations to avoid loss or lapse of Medicaid coverage for the client. The counselor will track each Medicaid/ Medicare recipient eligibility via

monthly to review individual Medicaid/ Medicare eligibility. The counselor will make timelines to monitor work for completion, to ensure that timelines are not missed and that documents are uploaded two weeks prior to the lapse date established by the LME/MCO. The counselor will track the submission of CCA, PCP, and claims to the LME/MCO via the designated agency portal. Participate in weekly treatment team mand staff meetings.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

None. Reports to Program Director and work closely with all clinical team.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Master’s degree (M.A) in Psychology, Counseling or, Social Work or related field or Associates Degree in Counseling or related field. Will maintain their LCAS credentials. Will maintain their credentialing with NCTRACKS and the designated LME/MCO. Registration with the North Carolina Substance Abuse Board is required and all mandated continue education hours to uphold licensure. If in recovery, at least 2 years continuous sobriety required. In addition to, an ability to work independently as well as with the team, ability to maintain high level of professional ethics.
