Program Summary Natchaug’s Joshua Center Programs treatchildren as young as six and as old as 17 who are struggling withpsychiatric or substance abuse issues, but do not require inpatientcare.

Services Include:

Comprehensive assessment, which mayinclude: Comprehensive aftercare planning, family, group, andindividual therapy, occupational and creative rehabilitationtherapy. Natchaug Hospital provides transportation from school tothe Joshua Center Program, and then to the student’s home. JobSummary Behavioral Health Clinician works in coordination withinterdisciplinary teams to organize, prepare, and deliver evidencebased clinical services in the Inpatient d epartment. Clinicalservices in the Child/Adolescent outpatient program and includeindividual, group and family therapy. Key responsibilities of

Behavioral Health Clinician:

Conducts a comprehensivebio-psychosocial assessment and establishes a care plan, asappropriate. Provides direct patient care that may include casemanagement, care coordination, interdisciplinary collaboration forcare transition needs, crisis intervention/safety planning,counseling, and emotional support to patients and families copingwith illness, trauma, or end -of-life care, referral and dischargeplanning. Refers patient to appropriate levels of care andavailable resources that promote the individualized care plan.

Maintains timely patient-centered documentation that reflect thepatient and client systems’ pertinent information for assessment,interventions and outcomes in accordance with regulatory licensingrequirements and third-party agencies. Behavioral Health Cliniciansare eligible for a Sign On Bonus up to $1,500.00, in accordancewith program guidelines Qualifications Master’s degree in Socialwork, Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy or Related HumanService Field. Previous experience in a healthcare settingrequired, preferably working with a mental health and/or chemicaldependency population Current Connecticut LMSW, LPC-A, LMFT-A, orCADC Excellent communication skills, with the ability to establishrelationships within and outside their entity Is cognizant ofhealth-related social needs and cultural competence. Recognizes andaddresses health disparities-inequalities and injustices directedtoward clients, related to access to care and provision of healthservices. Valid Driver’s License.
