SHIFT II

(8:00 A.M – 4:00 P.M) Job Description

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the direct supervision of a licensed clinician as a primary therapist for subset of patients treated in the Outpatient Clinic, facilitates group therapy, conducting initial psychiatric assessment, documenting biopsychosocial assessments, formulation and disposition, developing comprehensive treatment plans, writing discharge summaries and other related paperwork. The therapist is responsible for facilitating supportive, psychoeducational and insight-oriented psychotherapeutic interventions, providing crisis interventions to high-risk patients, engaging with and providing support to families, and engaging them in recovery.
Collaborating with appropriate personnel and/or departments to counsel and assist clients with the completion of application and documentation for educational, vocational, and entitlement programs.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to develop most appropriate case dispositions, while documenting all interventions within the required regulatory timeframes.
May provide some supervisory oversight for MHC-LP clinicians as well as develop and conduct departmental training programs to introduce new developments and techniques within the mental health counseling discipline.
Participate in monthly department meetings
Mav be assigned to work in other clinical areas as needed when patient care needs arise.
Minimum Qualifications Assignment Level II
1. Valid license and current registration to practice as a Mental Health Counselor issued by the NYSED and two (2) years of full-time, paid, professional experience providing direct client care in a behavioral health setting. How To Apply If you wish to apply for this position,
