Description:

Support children in need towards achieving optimal functioning as a 1:1 worker in homes and communities. Work occurs in a variety of settings where the child lives, works, attends school, engages in services, and/or socializes. Common tasks include supporting skill development, teaching personalized coping strategies (such as self-care routines and meditation skills), and improving effective communication within their families and communities.

Qualifications:

Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in progress or higher =; experience in human services preferred. We are looking for applicants with a valid driver’s license, vehicle and insurance. Part-time/Per-diem Schedule:

Dependent on the needs of our families and service providers. The ideal candidate has the ability to work from 2 pm – 7pm due to clients being school aged and typically in school during the day. Flexibility in scheduling makes it easy for our workers to attend school or have multiple jobs. Weekend availability is optional.

Location:

Our offices are based in Farmingdale, Long Island; however, we serve families across all of Long Island, Queens and Brooklyn and are currently looking for workers based in all of our service areas.

Salary:

Probationary Starting Pay $24-27.50 per service hour for two months with the opportunity to increase to $28.50 to $32.00 an hour after 2 months. For those who have a Master’s Degree and minimum 1 years applicable experience in children’s mental health, addiction, and/or foster care/child welfare/juvenile justice or other related human services field job have the opportunity for an increase of $46 an hour (after 2 month probation). All pay rates are per-diem and based on education, training, and experience. Staff are also reimbursed for some mileage and expenses. Salary is based on experience and educational level and services provided.
