Full Job Description Position:
Mental Health Clinician – Youth Outreach Services (LCSW, LMHC, LMFT)
Location:
New York City, NY Salary:
$76,933 annually
Hours:
Monday to Friday, 9 AM-5 PM (alternative shifts available: 7 AM-3 PM or 1 PM-9 PM)
Position Overview:
We’re looking for licensed mental health professionals who are passionate about making a direct impact in the lives of young people facing housing instability across NYC. This mobile, community-based role involves delivering mental health support in real time—meeting youth where they are, whether that’s in transit systems, shelters, hospitals, or community hubs. This role plays a vital part in a broader citywide strategy focused on youth well-being and stability.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver field-based clinical assessments, safety planning, and brief interventions Offer supportive counseling, crisis response, and trauma-aware engagement Build relationships with external partners including hospitals, schools, and shelters Lead group sessions promoting resilience, wellness, and independent living skills Assist youth in navigating housing and mental health resources Collaborate with and guide peer outreach workers as part of an interdisciplinary team Maintain accurate and timely electronic documentation
What You’ll Bring:
Active NYS licensure (LCSW, LMHC, LMFT); Limited Permit holders with strong relevant experience may also be considered Master’s degree in a mental health-related discipline Experience with adolescents and transition-age youth, ideally in outreach or behavioral health settings Familiarity with NYC’s service landscape for mental health and housing Excellent communication, problem-solving, and coordination abilities
