Under the supervision of the Principal and Director of Student Services for Behavioral Health, the successful candidate promotes and enhances the overall academic mission by providing services that strengthen home, school, and community partnerships and address barriers to learning and achievement. The Behavioral Health Counselor significantly contributes to the development of a healthy, safe, and caring learning environment. Clinicians should work collaboratively with school
- based staff to assess student needs, provide direct services and implement effective interventions through the district’s multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS).

Responsibilities:
Assessment of Student, Family, and School Needs
Effectively and appropriately assesses and addresses the needs, characteristics, and interactions of students and families.
Direct Services/Service Delivery
Uses knowledge and understanding of the reciprocal influences of home, school, and community to intervene for student success via such practices as; crisis assessment/intervention and response, home visits, conflict resolution, individual and group counseling, consultation, program development, dropout prevention, graduation awareness, and coordination of school and community services.
Advocacy
Advocates for appropriate services for students and their families.
Consultation and Collaboration
Consults and collaborates with stakeholders on behalf of students and their families.
Accountability
Advocates, facilitates, and contributes to LEA accountability for outcomes aligned with local, state, and federal policies and guidelines.
Qualifications:
Ability to relate and communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
Valid Pennsylvania Specialist I or II certification as a School Social Worker required
Valid Pennsylvania License (LSW, LCSW, MFT, LPC, Clinical Psych) preferred
Prior experience working with students with social/emotional challenges required
Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, or Social Work and a concentration of course work in clinical areas preferred
