The Behavioral Wellness Center at Girard is a well-established behavioral health facility in Philadelphia providing inpatient and outpatient psychiatric and substance abuse treatment. Position Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Counselor to join our GOLDMAN behavioral health and substance use treatment program . The Counselor will provide client-centered care through assessments, individual and group counseling, recovery planning, and coordination of services for adults in treatment. This full-time position follows a consistent Monday through Friday schedule from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM .

Key Responsibilities:

Complete intake assessments, psychosocial evaluations, and treatment plans Provide individual and group counseling using evidence-based practices Lead educational groups on relapse prevention, recovery skills, and life planning Maintain accurate documentation in Electronic Health Records (EHR) Monitor client progress and participate in case reviews and care planning Coordinate aftercare referrals and community service connections Participate in supervision, trainings, and interdisciplinary team meetings Adhere to confidentiality, ethical practice, and regulatory compliance standards

Qualifications:

Degree in Behavioral Health, Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or related field (Associate, Bachelor’s, or master’s accepted) At least 2 years of human services or counseling experience preferred Experience in substance use disorder treatment and recovery support highly preferred Knowledge of ASAM criteria, trauma-informed care, and group facilitation Familiarity with EHR systems and Microsoft Office Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills We are an Equal Opportunity Employer EOE/M/F/D/V
