PURPOSE:
WORK WITHIN THE HOPE INITIATIVE PROGRAM TO MOTIVATE TO SUPPORT AND REFERS AT RISK INDIVIDUALS TO APPROPRIATE TREATMENT PROGRAMS MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support Hope Initiative team on home visits and manage assigned case load
  • Knowledge of Rhode Island treatment, detox, and recovery support resources and have the understanding to connect those identified at risk individuals to appropriate services
  • Work in close conjunction with the law enforcement to provide optimal client care
  • Ability to actively listen and reflect conveying empathy
  • Engage with a person-centered approach
  • Encourage and support individuals in exercising the greatest level of choice over their service and support options and responsibility for their recovery
  • Assist and support in the following areas where possible: o Abstinence, which includes adherence to a medication assisted recovery regimen and/or any other prescribed medications o Education o Employment o Reduced criminal justice involvement o Stability in housing o Improved health o Social connectedness o Quality of life
  • Obtain and sustain Motivational Interviewing proficiency
  • Experience in documentation, policy, procedure, and ethics around peer engagements
  • Willingness and ability to be flexible with schedule
  • Perform other duties as required
REQUIREMENTS
  • Completion of Peer Recovery Specialist Training/Knowledge based on lived experiences.
  • Have a valid driver’s license
  • Ability to move up to 30 lbs
  • Subject to Criminal background check
