LICENSED BEHAVIORALCOUNSELOR POSITION SUMMARY
The Behavioral Health Counselor will beinvolved in working with all disciplines on the Mental Health Unitto attain effectiveness in serving the patient population.
LICENSEDBEHAVIORAL COUNSELOR MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Must be a Licensed,Masters Level Behavioral Health Clinician in the state of SouthCarolina who can assess and make treatment decisions and provideMental Health treatmentMust be licensed to practice independentlyand without supervision in South Carolina-LPC, LISW, LMFT, LicensedPsychologist, or equivalent.
LICENSED BEHAVIORAL COUNSELOR
ESSENTIALFUNCTIONSThe Licensed Mental Health Counselor performs individualand group therapeutic interventions as appropriate.
The LicensedMental Health Counselor performs administrative consults forspecialized social services as determined by the specific needs ofthe Institution.
The Licensed Mental Health Counselor performsspecific psychiatric social service work on the Behavioral HealthUnit of a Juvenile Detention Facility.
The Licensed Mental HealthCounselor assists in planning and implementing the goals andobjectives of programs and projects. May direct special projects asrequested.
The Licensed Mental Health Counselor participates in andconducts in-service programs, as well as assists in the orientationof new staff and provides the necessary preparation ofdocumentation, necessary records and reports.
