Responsibilities:

This person will serve as a clinician on the Belmont Counseling Services (BUCS) team. BUCS is committed to providing free, convenient access to professional mental health assessment, emergent care, short-term treatment, and wellness education, as well as referral to off-campus specialists and services. This essential program equips students to manage life transitions as well as serious emotional issues. BUCS’s collaborative efforts across campus and within the larger mental health community of Nashville ensure that Belmont students directly experience a sense of community that values safety, personal integrity and care.
Provide individual and group counseling services to students.
Ability to effectively manage and triage crisis situations.
Ability to maintain healthy self-care practices in a high pressure/response-oriented environment.
Provide consultation to faculty and staff as needed.
Collaborate with larger university student support offices when appropriate.
Maintain documentation in an electronic health record (Medicat).
Supervise a graduate intern.
Provide educational outreach programming.
Assist in developing and maintaining resources (internal & external) for campus members.
Assist as necessary in critical responses and/or institutional intervention.

Required Qualifications:

Licensed or pursuing licensure as a mental health professional in the state of Tennessee.
Excellent assessment and clinical skills along with a professional growth mindset.

Ability to maintain healthy team relationships while also working in some degree of isolation.
Required EducationMaster’s degree in Counseling or directly-related field. Current counseling licensure or working towards licensure in the state of TN. Required ExperienceMinimum 3 years experience in Counseling or directly-related field. Experience and expertise related to college student development preferred. The selected candidate will be required to complete a background check satisfactory to the University. Belmont University participates in E-Verify.
