Exempt Job Summary:

The Group Facilitator is responsible for conducting therapeutic group sessions for clients participating in Residential, IOP and PHP services. This role involves creating a safe and supportive environment, utilizing evidence-based practices to promote clients’ mental health and recovery. The facilitator will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct group therapy sessions for clients enrolled in Residential, IOP and PHP, focusing on mental health and substance abuse topics. Develop and implement group therapy curricula based on evidence-based practices and individual treatment plans. Create a safe and supportive environment for group members to share their experiences, challenges, and progress. Utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques to promote self-awareness, coping skills, and emotional regulation within the group. Facilitate discussions and encourage active participation among group members. Provide feedback and insights to clients during group sessions to foster their understanding and growth. Collaborate with the treatment team to ensure consistency and continuity of care for clients. Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of group therapy sessions and individual progress. Participate in clinical team meetings as needed to provide insights on client progress and group dynamics.

Qualifications:
Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.

Licensure/Certifications:

Relevant licensure such as Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or equivalent is preferred and may be required depending on state regulations. Certification in substance abuse counseling is a plus.

Experience:

Previous experience facilitating group therapy sessions, particularly in mental health or substance abuse settings, is advantageous.

Skills:

Strong facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to engage clients and manage group dynamics effectively.

Technical Proficiency:

Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and standard office software.
