Full Job Description Position Summary:
The Group Facilitator conducts therapeutic group sessions for patients in the Mental Health and Substance Residential facility, Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). This role involves leading structured sessions, supporting individuals through their recovery journey, and creating a safe, supportive environment to promote healing and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate group therapy sessions using evidence-based approaches to address mental health and substance abuse issues. Develop and implement group session plans aligned with program goals and individual treatment plans. Promote engagement, active participation, and respectful interaction among group members. Monitor patient behavior and progress during sessions, providing feedback to the treatment team as needed. Document session details, patient participation, and progress in the electronic medical record (EMR) system. Work closely with the treatment team to ensure integrated care and support for each patient. Participate in regular staff meetings and case conferences to discuss patient progress and treatment planning. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of therapeutic techniques and interventions relevant to mental health and addiction recovery.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). Experience facilitating group therapy or similar therapeutic settings, preferably in mental health or substance abuse programs. Knowledge of group therapy modalities such as CBT, DBT, and motivational interviewing. Strong interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills. Familiarity with EMR systems and documentation standards for Residential, PHP and IOP settings
