Job Description Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Clinical Manager, and in collaboration with other agency clinicians, the Licensed Clinician is responsible for outpatient mental and behavioral health services provided to a caseload of clients for the equivalent of eight hours per day, five days per week. Responsible for offering best-practice, trauma-informed, designated mental health services to child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric age groups including but not limited to individual, couple, family, and group therapy.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Provides brief individual, family, group and marital counseling with children, adolescent, adults, families and couples, with the provision of collateral counseling as needed. Provides consultation and education outside the center as requested by management or the community, which may include school M-Teams, juvenile officers, social service agencies, probation officers and public service speeches and or workshops. Coordinates services for clients with agencies and professionals. Participates in staff meetings, Treatment Team, and Quality Improvement Activities. Completes documentation on a timely basis. This includes, but is not limited to, progress notes, treatment plans. Maintains or exceeds productivity standards. Utilizes supervision appropriately. Demonstrates professionalism and appropriately seeking supervision when needed. Has daily interactions with clients who are mentally ill, seriously emotionally disturbed and/or chemically dependent who, due to their impairment, are at high risk for labile, volatile and/or unpredictable behavior. Completes a comprehensive assessment of the consumer’s strengths, current status and goals to ensure necessary services are provided. Provides crisis assistance in situations when immediate attention is warranted. Performs any related responsibilities as assigned or directed by management.

Provides therapeutic services to assigned caseload in ways that seek to promote individual, program and system-level approaches that foster health and resilience, increase necessary supports while reducing gaps in service and barriers to social inclusion
Provides brief individual, family, group and marital counseling with children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples with the provision of collateral counseling as needed
Facilitates equitable services for recipients in person and via telehealth and telephonic options as needed, safe, appropriate, and beneficial
Completes intakes and makes referrals any additional services needed including but not limited to Agency-based individual therapy, medication evaluation and management, group therapy, and case management
Provides coordination and follow-up monitoring of services rendered to the client and family as needed
Maintains or exceeds productivity standards
Develops and/or maintains a Treatment Plan related to client presenting problems and utilizing objectives and interventions that supports client strengths, goals, and choice
Completes and/or ensures completion of all appropriate documentation in a timely manner with correct and appropriate tone, grammar, and syntax.
This includes but is not limited to Progress Notes, Informed Consents & Permission to Treat, Orientation Acknowledgement, Medical History, Assessments
Collaborates effectively with service recipients, outside agency personnel, family members, and internal agency personnel including but not limited to supervisors, therapists, physicians, nurses, and case managers to ensure continuity of care
Provides crisis assistance in situations when immediate attention is warranted
Provide community education, awareness, and support regarding of mental health and other relevant issues as able
Provides reporting of work activity to Clinical Manager as requested
Participates in staffing and supervision as scheduled and as needed, and displays evidence of the value of lifelong learning as related to best practices in client care
Participates in Quality Assurance & Improvement, Utilization Management, and other agency and system functions
Other activities or responsibilities as needed per supervisor or agency
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
Master’s Degree required
LICENSURE, REGISTRATION, CERTIFICATION
Maintains an active license with the State of Tennessee
Any additional certification or training as requested by supervisor or Agency
EXPERIENCE
Experience preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Exhibits proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Exhibits capacity to learn and utilize electronic medical records and other online software programs quickly and effectively
Demonstrates professional written, verbal, and nonverbal communication
Demonstrates ability to set priorities for tasks, to work effectively under minimal supervision, exceptionally organized, described by others as a self-starter, reliable, dependable, and motivated

DIRECTION/SUPERVISION REQUIREMENTS
May be utilized to offer occasional individual or group supervision to other non-licensed agency staff
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Able to perform various physical demands of the job that help deliver services to program recipients and the agency. Physical demands include but are not limited to prolonged standing, sitting, walking, driving, climbing stairs, lifting/carrying objects, etc.
Prolonged periods of sitting in sessions with clients
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Standard office conditions along with being prepared to work in the community in various weather conditions and travel throughout West Tennessee as needed
