All US Citizens Videos Duties Major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: The License Professional Mental Health Counselor Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program (BHI) provides a full range of psychosocial assessment services and psychiric diagnoses of mental disorders, particularly for complex or unusually difficult pients in a variety of trement settings, including tele-mental health. Provides educion to pients, family members, and significant others. Provides comprehensive, evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions, including individual, family, and group psychotherapy. Provides consultion to professional staff within VA Medical Center Memphis and to community providers, concerning clinical assessment findings and approprie trement plans for pients. Develops, implements, and documents the psychotherapeutic trement plan for unassigned caseload of pients, including prompt completion of clinical reminders. Implements methods for measuring effectiveness of practice and services in the specialty area, utilizing outcome evaluions to improve trement services and to design system changes. Functions independently the VA Medical Center Memphis and assumes complete professional responsibility for his/her clinical assessment findings, pient care decisions, and documention. Interviews veterans and their family members/significant others to establish facts about the veteran’s situion, presenting problems and their causes, and the impact of such problems on the veteran’s functioning and health as part of a comprehensive psychosocial assessment. Interprets and explains VA’s trement and benefit programs. Other duties as assigned.

Examples of reled mental health counseling fields include, but are not limited to Addiction Counseling; Community Counseling; Gerontology Counseling; Marital, Couple, and Family Counseling. Licensure :

Candides must hold a full, current, and unrestricted license to independently practice as a Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor, which includes diagnosis and trement.

NOTE:

It is VHA policy th a LPMHC who does not yet have a license th allows independent practice must be supervised by a licensed independent practitioner of the same discipline who is a VA staff member and who has access to the electronic health record.

Loss of Licensure:

Once licensed, LPMHCs must maintain a full, valid, and unrestricted license to independently practice mental health counseling, which includes diagnosis and trement. Loss of licensure will result in removal from the

In addition to the basic requirements, candides must have least one year of progressively complex LPMHC experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level. Senior LPMHCs must have five years of post-licensed experience th demonstres possession of advanced practice skills and judgment, demonstring progressive professional competency and expertise and be licensed to provide clinical supervision to trainees or unlicensed LPMHCs.

Assignments:

Senior LPMHCs provide trement to pients with complex needs including multiple mental health diagnoses, and numerous psychosocial issues, 8 using independent judgment. LPMHCs this level provide clinical consultion to less experienced staff which may include coordining crisis situions. Senior LPMHCs will provide clinical supervision to LPMHC staff and/or LPMHC trainees, and may serve as the subject mter expert for the discipline. Senior LPMHCs develop behavioral health reled training curriculum and often conduct trainings for clinical staff. LPMHCs model ethical and professional behaviors and standards to include multicultural awareness. Senior LPMHCs meet routinely with interprofessional team members and leadership to communice about program and pient issues for in depth problem solving. Senior LPMHCs collabore with internal and external stakeholders and frequently serve as a liaison. This assignment is to be relively few in number based on the size of the facility/service and applying sound position management. This assignment must represent substantial additional responsibility over and above th required the full performance grade level and cannot be used as the full performance level of this occupion. In addition to meeting the KSAs for the GS-11 grade level, the candide must demonstre all of the KSAs below: 1. Advanced knowledge of and mastery of theories and modalities used in the specialized trement of complex mental illness. Ability to coordine the delivery of specialized psychosocial services and programs. Ability to design system changes based on da. 4. Ability to provide subject mter consultion to colleagues and trainees on the psychosocial trement of pients, rendering professional opinions based on experience, expertise and role modeling effective clinical skills. 5. Ability to teach, mentor staff and trainees, and provide supervision for licensure or for specialty certificions. 6.
