Job Description
Behavioral Health Specialist Washington County Government 108 West Jackson Boulevard, Jonesborough, TN 37659 The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Behavioral Health Specialist or Master’s Level Clinician to support evidence-based services within our detention facility. This part-time subcontractor role offers a unique opportunity to provide meaningful support to incarcerated individuals while gaining valuable experience in a correctional setting. The grant period runs through June 30, 2027. Candidates must be a Licensed Behavior Health Specialist/ Master Level Clinician .
Job Duties:
Conduct behavioral health assessments for incarcerated individuals. Coordinate referrals for behavioral health and other services for participants in Evidence-based programs prior to release. Provide case management and reentry planning for participants in Evidence-based programs. Deliver individual counseling and support services for participants in Evidence-based programs. Assist with initiatives aimed at improving inmate mental health for the participants in Evidence-based programs. Maintain accurate records and contribute to program reporting requirements. Attend and participate in relevant programming and staff meetings. Other tasks as requested.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Social Work or related field from an accredited institution. Minimum of one year of relevant experience. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust with incarcerated individuals, staff and community partners. Ability to remain composed in high-stress situations. Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel. Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Preferred qualifications:
Experience working in a detention or correctional facility. Background in working with underserved or vulnerable populations, including individuals with substance use disorders or legal system involvement.
Annual Part-Time Salary:
$84,497 Benefits are not included in this position. Washington County is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
