School Counselor in Jonesborough, TN Position Available In Washington, Tennessee

Category Schools – Counselor Job Type Contract This full-time Counselor position offers an opportunity to support students from kindergarten through 12th grade in an educational setting, beginning July 1, 2025, for the 2025-2026 academic year. Working 37.5 hours per week under a contract extending through the school year, the role focuses on helping students overcome challenges that affect their learning and guiding them in educational, occupational, and life planning.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide counseling services to K-12 students to address academic, social, behavioral, and emotional issues. Assist students in developing educational and career goals. Collaborate with educators, parents, and community resources to promote student well-being. Deliver individual and group counseling sessions tailored to student needs. Support crisis intervention and mental health awareness initiatives within the school. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student progress and services.

Qualifications:

Master’s degree in School Counseling with a current valid educator license and appropriate endorsement. Additional certifications in Mental Health or Behavioral Counseling preferred. Alternatively, a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling or Social Work is acceptable, with preference for those holding a Master’s in School Guidance Counseling. Licensed Professional Counselor or Mental Health Service Provider (LPC/MHSP) certification is highly desired. Strong communication and interpersonal skills suited for working with students, staff, and families.
