Schedule:

Saturday and Sunday from 11 am to 7 pm Your Work Matters How will you make a difference? As a Milieu Specialist at Ridgeview Institute – Smyrna, you’ll play a key role in shaping a therapeutic environment that promotes patient recovery, stabilization, and reintegration into the community. Working closely with the Director of Clinical Services in Outpatient Services, you’ll lead a team of Mental Health Technicians, ensuring that evidence-based practices are seamlessly implemented to provide high-quality care. Your contributions will directly support patients’ journeys toward health and healing in a dynamic and collaborative setting. Lead with

Impact:

Supervise the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans, guiding staff to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care that promotes patient recovery.

Engage Patients:

Facilitate expressive therapy groups and encourage active participation in therapeutic activities, helping patients stabilize and move toward reintegration.

Ensure Excellence:

Oversee compliance with treatment protocols, accrediting standards, and licensing requirements, maintaining a high level of care throughout the therapeutic environment.

Drive Improvement:

Regularly assess program effectiveness, stay current on clinical trends, and recommend enhancements to maintain excellence in patient care.

Collaborate and Build Relationships:

Foster open communication between clinicians, psychiatrists, nurses, and external evaluators, creating a cohesive and supportive team environment.

Mentor and Lead:

Supervise and develop Mental Health Technicians, providing leadership in hiring, training, mentoring, and performance evaluations.

Promote Safety and Stability:

Ensure the therapeutic milieu is safe and supportive, using proactive interventions to reduce restraints and prevent incidents through positive behavior management techniques. Your Experience Matters What we’re looking for:

Education & Licensure:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in psychology, social work, counseling, education, or medicine. Licensure or licensure eligibility is preferred for roles such as Clinical Psychologist, Social Worker, Counselor, Nurse, or Psychiatrist (e.g., MSW, LPC, LCSW, LCPC, Psy.

D., Ed.

D., RN, LPN

).

Experience:

At least five years of full-time experience in an inpatient psychiatric setting or equivalent is preferred, as is at least one year of supervisory experience.

Additional Skill Requirement s:

CPR/First Aid and CPI Trained and certified. May be required to work flexible hours and overtime. Must be able to meet our

vaccination requirements. Must possess knowledge of milieu management, group dynamics, individual and family treatment, and biological aspects of psychological illness; demonstrated leadership ability and skills. Must be able to physically respond to psychiatric emergent situations and function as a team member.
