Duties:

Performs specialized trement keeping in mind the impact of complex physical or mental illness. Incumbent incorpores multiple causion in differential diagnosis and trement of Veteran pients, including making psychosocial and psychiric diagnoses within approved clinical privileges or scope of practice. Provides individual, group, and family psychotherapy and advanced level case management interventions used in the trement of Veterans with polytrauma injuries, spinal cord injuries, traumic brain injuries, visual impairment, post-traumic stress disorder, addictions, and other serious disorders. Develops and implements methods for measuring effectiveness of social work practice and services in specialty areas, utilizing outcome evaluions to improve trement services. Incumbent demonstres the ability to design changes based on empirical findings. Demonstres the ability to teach and mentor staff and students in the special area of practice and to provide supervision for licensure or specialty certificions. participes in team staffing by participing in the consult triage process, providing subject mter expertise on trement recommendions. Works assertively and consistently with VA programs across the Health Care System to assure continuity of care by providing consultion regarding clinical needs, trement plans, and case management services for assigned pients. Additionally, this position may require consultion on admission decisions, and recommendions for post-discharge trement planning. Senior Social Worker takes a leadership position in communicing with their Interdisciplinary team, as well as across teams, working in close collaborion with clinic or program directors. Provide educion regarding their role and the role of their program in Veteran care. In pursuit of programmic and trement goals, maintain effective working relionships and other professional and administrive personnel both within DVAHCS and in the community. Participes in the training of Social Workers, Peer Support Specialists, volunteers, and students; participes as required and requested in oriention, training and staff development programs involving Social Workers across the Health Care System. Experience/Educion:

The candide must have least two years of experience post advanced practice clinical licensure and should be in a specialized area of social work practice of which, one year must be equivalent to the GS-11 grade level. Senior social workers have experience th demonstres possession of advanced practice skills and judgment. Senior social workers are experts in their specialized area of practice. Senior social workers may have certificion or other post-masters training from a nionally recognized professional organizion or university th includes a defined curriculum/course of study and internship or equivalent supervised professional experience in a specialty.

Licensure/Certificion:

Senior social workers must be licensed or certified by a ste the advanced practice level which included an advanced generalist or clinical examinion, unless they are grandfhered by the ste in which they are licensed to practice the advanced practice level (except for licenses issued in California, which administers its own clinical examinion for advanced practice) and they must be able to provide supervision for licensure.
