Spanish /English speaking Chesed 24/7 Spring Valley, NY 10977 We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to provide direct, in-person clinical services to individuals of all ages who have limited English proficiency. The ideal candidate will be proficient in a language commonly spoken by our client population (e.g., Spanish, Haitian Creole, etc.) and demonstrate exceptional cultural competence in delivering evidence-based interventions. This role requires a strong commitment to advocating for clients, navigating systemic barriers, and fostering a trusting therapeutic relationship within a person-in-environment framework Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments for individuals of all ages, considering cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic factors. Develop and implement individualized, culturally appropriate treatment plans utilizing various modalities, including individual, family, and group therapy. Provide crisis intervention and support to clients and their families as needed. Address a wide range of mental health concerns, including but not limited to, anxiety, depression, trauma, adjustment disorders, and family conflict. Provide direct clinical services in the client’s preferred language, ensuring effective communication and rapport building. Demonstrate in-depth knowledge and understanding of the cultural values, traditions, and belief systems of the diverse populations served, particularly those with limited English proficiency. Integrate cultural humility and self-awareness into all aspects of practice, recognizing and addressing potential biases. Adapt therapeutic interventions and communication styles to align with clients’ cultural backgrounds.

Documentation & Compliance:

Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential client records in accordance with ethical guidelines, agency policies, and regulatory requirements. Complete all necessary documentation, including progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries, within designated timeframes. Adhere to all legal and ethical standards of social work practice, including mandated reporting laws.

Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program. Current, unrestricted Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license in the State of New York. Fluency (oral and written) in English and at least one other language commonly spoken in the community (e.g., Spanish ) is required. Please specify language(s) of proficiency in your application. Actively participate in clinical supervision, team meetings, and ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge, particularly in areas related to cultural competence and working with diverse language populations.
