In order to better care for our community, Amos House launched an outpatient behavioral health program in 2023 and is looking for someone to join our unique multidisciplinary team. Our Complex Care Specialists will have the opportunity to collaborate with staff throughout the organization, thereby helping their clients access needed resources like housing, food security, benefits, and peer support. We firmly believe that treatment includes addressing people’s health-related social needs, and that what happens in a clinical office is only one step on the journey to recovery. The Outpatient Clinician will work with our growing outpatient behavioral health team, and will be responsible for providing individual and group counseling and program development for adults with substance use disorder and mental illness. The Outpatient Clinician will serve clients in both general outpatient and intensive outpatient settings. This individual will take the lead on identifying the diverse needs of their client, and then bringing in other team members to ensure a holistic response to each individual. Our team includes prescribers, other clinicians, a nurse care manager, and a wide variety of peers, case managers, and employment and housing specialists who work throughout Amos House’s 10+ programs. Duties/Responsibilities Conduct intake/biopsychosocial/spiritual assessment of new patients in general outpatient and intensive outpatient (substance use) settings. Provide individual and group therapy sessions for a caseload of up to 35-40 adults to address a wide range of behavioral health concerns, including substance use disorders. Develop and implement personalized treatment plans based on clinical assessments and evidence-based practices. Offer crisis intervention services/symptom stabilization and support to individuals experiencing acute emotional distress. Collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues to ensure integrated care. Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in accordance with agency policies and legal requirements. Participate in regular case conferences, team meetings, and clinical supervision sessions. Advocate for clients’ needs and coordinate with external organizations and agencies to provide holistic care. Acts as a resource for Amos House guests and staff by providing consultation and education re: behavioral health needs and treatment strategies. Rotate on-call shifts with other clinical staff as needed.

Qualifications:

Clinician will have a Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field and at least two years work experience. Current RI licensure or certification as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). Experience providing treatment for substance use disorders Knowledgeable of psychopharmacology Experience working with culturally diverse populations. Proficiency in conducting clinical assessments, developing treatment plans, and delivering evidence-based interventions. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams. Ability to manage crises and provide appropriate interventions in high-stress situations. Knowledge of relevant ethical standards, confidentiality regulations, and legal requirements. Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for helping individuals overcome mental health challenges. Flexibility to adapt to the evolving needs of the community and the organization.
