Job Description Summary:

Responsible for providing crisis intervention services to clients in the office and in both secured and non-secured off-site locations. Responsibilities of Crisis Clinician I are performed for adult to geriatric age groups. Under the direct supervision of the Clinical Manager, responsible for crisis intervention to a fluctuating volume of clients per day, for a designated shift, five days per week, generally 8 hours per day. Employee is subject to call back as needed.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Provides brief crisis oriented counseling on the phone as needed or face to face in the center or an off-site location.
Coordinates services for clients with agencies and professionals. Screens and refers clients for appropriate level of care.
Assists physicians and qualified staff in the first certification process for emergency admission of client to the Regional Mental Health Institute by pre-assessing clients and collecting information.
Works flexible shifts as determined by Clinical Manager. Works on weekends and/or holidays as determined by the Clinical Manager.
Maintains accurate documentation of all services rendered.
Has daily interactions with clients who are mentally ill, seriously emotionally disturbed and/or chemically dependent who, due to their impairment, are at high risk for labile, volatile and/unpredictable behavior.
Attends all staff meetings and completes mandatory training.
Performs related responsibilities as required or directed.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:

A bachelor’s degree is required.

LICENSURE, REGISTRATION, CERTIFICATION

Valid Driver’s license required.
Emergency behavior management training within 90 day orientation period and maintained throughout employment.

EXPERIENCE

Experience in the mental health field preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Computer skills required.
