Job Description
Christian Female Overnight Divine Mercy House Jacksonville, FL 32223 The Overnight Staff serves as a compassionate and watchful presence in the maternity home during overnight hours. This role ensures the physical safety, emotional support, and spiritual encouragement of pregnant and parenting women in a Christ-centered environment. The ideal candidate is spiritually mature, dependable, and aligned with the mission to reflect God’s love through service and hospitality. This is an hourly position and overnight position to direct and oversee the home from 6:00pm to 8:00am daily, beginning at 6:00pm Sunday’s . The evening staff leaves at 8:00am daily and returns at 6:00pm that evening . A total of 40 paid hours a week.
Key Responsibilities:
Remain awake and alert throughout the night shift to supervise residents and ensure home safety Perform routine bed checks and monitor for unusual activity or emergency needs Respond calmly and effectively to resident crises or conflicts during the night Document observations, incidents, and resident interactions in shift reports Enforce house rules and curfew policies fairly and consistently Conduct light housekeeping tasks as needed (e.g., laundry, tidying up common areas) Communicate important information to day staff at shift change Occasionally assist with infant care or wake-up routines in the early morning
Qualifications:
A personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ; able to model Christian values. High school diploma or equivalent required; further education in human services, ministry, or counseling is a plus. Experience working with vulnerable populations, especially pregnant or parenting women, is preferred. CPR/First Aid certified or willing to become certified. Ability to remain awake and alert throughout the shift. Emotionally mature with strong boundaries, discretion, and a heart for ministry. Agreement with and commitment to the organization’s statement of faith and Christian mission.
