GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Child Care Resource and Referral Specialist plays a vital role in establishing and optimizing systems to facilitate the delivery of the Child Care Resource and Referral (CCR&R) program. This program serves as the primary gateway for accessing early childhood services and information for child care providers, families, and the community. Leveraging the capabilities of the Enhanced Field System (EFSM) database, the specialist supports the provision of comprehensive child care related information, guidance on selecting high-quality child care programs, and appropriate referrals to social service agencies.
ESSENTIAL POSITION DUTIES
Assist with the administration, coordination, and/or delivery of CCR&R services Arrange resources and provide referrals to child care options and subsidy programs for families with young children Maintain quality consumer education resources for families in need of child care, utilizing research-based, culturally appropriate materials. Review and update resource list annually. Review applications received for child care funding and place into the waitlist as provided by guidelines Participate in required training and conference calls Maintain knowledge of CCR&R Program Requirements, per grants and contracts Assist with the completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual CCR&R reports by designated timeframes Assist with the maintenance of EFSM database with all provider updates Communicate with providers via phone, mail, email, or fax Gather and prepare data for entry on reports, case records, form letters, and other material as applicable Ensures data and information received from clients is accurate Perform other work-related duties as needed or as assigned by Supervisor/Manager
GENERAL AGENCY DUTIES
As a member of the Coalition team, act in accordance with the agency’s vision, mission, and core values Demonstrate strong ethics and comply with agency policies and procedures Develop respectful and collaborative relationships with clients and colleagues, inside and outside the organization Participate in a minimum of two (2) agency outreach events annually Attend and participate in meetings and professional development, as identified Assist with special projects and other duties, as identified
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree with up to 2 years of relevant work experience; Associate’s degree and 2+ years of relevant work experience; or HS Diploma/equivalency and 4+ years of relevant work experience Minimum of two (2) years of experience in early learning programs and services, including Coalition Services activities In-depth knowledge of Florida’s early learning system, including a comprehensive understanding of rules and regulations in child care Must already have or be able to obtain the CCR&R certification within the first four (4) months of employment Be able to complete the 40-hour DCF child care training
