Full Job Description Position Summary:
The After School Care Provider is responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for school-aged children during after-school hours. This role includes supervising students, assisting with homework, facilitating recreational activities, and maintaining compliance with all Bright from the
Start:
Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning (DECAL) regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide active supervision of children in all areas, following BFTS active supervision standards at all times. Implement developmentally appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. Maintain accurate attendance records and ensure authorized pick-up procedures are followed. Serve snacks in accordance with CACFP (Child and Adult Care Food Program) and program policies. Assist children with homework, reading, or enrichment activities as needed. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment that complies with BFTS safety and sanitation regulations. Report any injuries, behavioral issues, or incidents to the supervisor and complete required documentation. Communicate positively and professionally with parents and staff. Attend staff meetings and training sessions required by BFTS licensing and the program. Follow all policies and procedures as outlined in the staff handbook and BFTS guidelines.
Compensation:

After School Care Provider:
Must be at least 18 years old and meet BFTS staff qualification requirements for school-age care. High school diploma or equivalent required; CDA, TCC, or related coursework in child development preferred. At least 1 year of experience working with children in a licensed childcare or after-school program preferred. Must pass a comprehensive background check and fingerprinting through
DECAL/BFTS.
Must hold or be willing to obtain CPR and First Aid certification. Ability to relate to children and their families with warmth, patience, and professionalism.

Ability to lift up to 25 pounds Ability to walk, stand, sit on the floor, bend, and move quickly in response to child needs Visual and auditory ability to observe and monitor child safety
