Description:
We are a very busy family of four, with two physician parents and two young children (ages 7 and 5), seeking a proactive, reliable, and caring full-time Family Assistant/House Manager to support us with household management and before•and after-school childcare. Our ideal candidate is someone who is not only warm and nurturing but also highly organized and dependable. You should have a genuine love for children and enjoy being actively involved in their growth and daily routines. You’re skilled at balancing the demands of a busy household and thrive in an environment where you can manage both kids’ schedules and household tasks with ease. You are confident using tools like Google Calendar, able to follow instructions, and take initiative when needed. Whether it’s preparing meals, organizing the children’s belongings, or keeping the home tidy, you take pride in your work and aim to create a calm, organized, and welcoming environment for the whole family. You’re physically capable of keeping up with the kids and household chores, and you’re happy to contribute in a variety of ways to keep everything running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
Childcare Duties:
Provide attentive, nurturing, and age-appropriate care for our children Plan and lead fun, educational activities (outdoor play, arts and crafts, story time) Assist with homework and encourage creative learning Prepare healthy snacks and meals for the children Maintain daily routines, including naps and meal schedules Transport children to/from school, activities, and appointments Update and manage the family’s Google Calendar for school events, extracurricular activities, and appointments Must be tech-savvy and organized—able to manage school apps, logins, calendars, and coordinate communication with teachers, activity leaders, and other parents Manage appointments and take to lead to schedule: Assist with coordinating and scheduling children’s activities, doctor’s appointments, and other family commitments as directed Household Management (While Children Are in School): Organize and maintain common areas, kitchen, and children’s spaces (picking up toys, sorting items) Perform light housekeeping tasks (vacuuming, dusting, wiping down surfaces) to keep the home clean and welcoming Handle family laundry (wash, fold, and put away clothing and linens) Prepare healthy family meals (gluten-free, dairy-free, paleo-friendly) and assist with meal planning Run errands such as grocery shopping, picking up household supplies, and other necessary tasks Organize and rotate children’s seasonal clothing, school bags, and supplies Oversee pantry and household inventory, restocking as needed Help coordinate and manage household appointments, contractors, and services Assist with pet care (feeding and ensuring the dogs are well cared for)
Requirements:
Experience:
Previous experience in childcare and household management, with excellent references
Transport:
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (family car can be provided for work-related use)
Background:
Must be willing to undergo a full background check and drug test
Health:
Physically capable of climbing stairs, carrying laundry, and performing active tasks
Skills:
Proficient with Google Suite (Calendar, Docs, etc.)
Certifications:
CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willing to obtain)
Other:
Must be able to swim, and in good health
Preferred:
Background in child development or early education is a plus
