The Director of Child Care is responsible for the overall operation of the Dartmouth College Child Care Center, including meeting the needs of children and families, program and curriculum, enrollment, staff hiring and supervision, and physical plant. The Director of Child Care leads the center staff in creating a warm, caring, and safe early care and education environment. The position also provides senior management strategic advice about the Dartmouth College Child Care initiative. Description

We have a very low child-to-teacher ratio and teachers are grouped into teaching teams of three and have autonomy over their curriculum.

Required Qualifications – Education and Yrs Exp Bachelors plus 6 or more years’ experience or combination of education and experience Required Qualifications – Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Bachelor’s degree or substantial coursework in early childhood education or a related field plus nine credits in business administration or a state credential in education administration is required. Minimum of 10 years of experience in early childhood education or childcare program management, including at least five years in a leadership role. In-depth knowledge of early childhood programs. Preferred Qualifications Ability to qualify as a Dartmouth Approved Driver. Master’s degree in early childhood education or related field preferred. Excellent leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities and projects. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present data and program insights to stakeholders.
