Location:

Ideally 12pm-8pm for the summer; 11am-7pm for the school year •Can be fewer hours, if desired Start date:

$30-$35 / hr based on experience

You are comfortable with a healthy (eating-wise) household and enjoy cooking. You are willing to support a media free upbringing for the children. Though you certainly have experience with babies, you are not set in your ways and you are comfortable collaborating with parents and hearing their preferences, in order to provide the most nurturing, enriching care for their children. You understand the importance of structure in a child’s life, and are comfortable implementing the daily schedules. While you are able to closely follow set schedules, you are also comfortable going with the flow as needed, and are happy for a day that entails child-centered infant/toddler activities. You are a loving, warm person who enjoys spending time around adults as well as children, as the adults in the household and grandparents will be around the home throughout the day.

Requirements:

Must be up to date on all childhood vaccines (including TDAP), plus, flu, COVID, and RSV if age-eligible) Must be a confident driver and have a clean driving record; family will provide a car for use Must be able to swim Must be comfortable traveling with family (5 days at a time) to

Mid-West and North East Responsibilities:

•Both of the older children are in school 4-5 days a week from 8am-3pm during the school year and mom will be home with the infant for the next 3 months. Household responsibilities will take place while the children are in school, and childcare responsibilities while the children are home. Loving, attentive and patient care of children (See RIE approach at end of this job description) Comfortable managing children’s schedules Work hand in hand with parent to manage transportation daily to and from school, camp, classes and/or extracurricular activities• Play daily outside with children (walks, trips to the playground, soccer, bike rides). Engage baby in learning and exploration via books, stories, art, songs and play Plan and participate in age-appropriate activities Foster confidence via nurturing care Spend hours outdoors daily (playing in the yard, going on walks around the neighborhood) Serve children healthy, well rounded meals; manage meal preparation for entire family When baby is napping and older children are in school: Laundry for the household •Priority Meal prep for the household (must be comfortable preparing meals) •Priority Tidy and clean the children’s play space and bedrooms Take out baby diapers daily Receive and break down packages when they arrive
