Job Description
Full Time Nanny/ Household Manager 4.4 4.4 out of 5 stars Syosset, NY 11791 Full Time, Live-In Nanny Needed for Sept 2025 Start in Syosset, NY We are seeking a full-time, live-in nanny to provide comprehensive and engaging care for two young children. The family is looking for a long-term commitment with an ideal start date after Labor Day, though they are open to an earlier start for the right candidate. Responsibilities The nanny’s primary responsibilities will revolve around the children’s well-being and daily routine.
Childcare:
This includes managing daily schedules, engaging the children in age-appropriate activities such as library visits, music classes, and outdoor play, and overseeing their general care. One child will attend school in the fall, and the other will start next year. The nanny will be responsible for school drop-offs and pick-ups for both children.
Safety and Health:
Ensuring the children’s safety at all times, including supervision around a locked pool area. The children do not have significant medical needs, though the youngest has eczema. The nanny will be responsible for diaper changes and occasional bath times and bedtimes.
Light Housekeeping & Meal Preparation:
Responsibilities include keeping children’s areas tidy, doing children’s laundry, and occasional meal preparation, such as pre-prepping pasta.
Activities & Errands:
Transporting children to and from activities. Occasionally, the nanny may be responsible for other children during playdates.
Flexibility:
The role requires flexibility for occasional overnight stays, especially during severe weather events, and potential travel with the family, both domestically and internationally, requiring a valid passport. The family travels and prefers a nanny who can accompany them, but they are open to providing paid time off if the nanny does not travel with them. Schedule & Compensation The position is full-time, typically 45-50 hours per week, with overtime paid for hours exceeding 45. Federal holidays will be paid days off.
Work Schedule:
Generally, the nanny will work from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with variations depending on the family’s needs and the children’s school schedules.
Compensation:
The pay range for this position is $30-$35 per hour, with a yearly bonus. The family is open to both payroll and GTM for payment.
Benefits:
Standard benefits will be provided, including 2 weeks of paid time off, 2 paid sick days, and 3 paid personal days. The family is open to discussing healthcare contributions. A vehicle will be provided for work-related duties, and private parking is available for the nanny’s personal vehicle. Accommodations This is a live-in position with comfortable accommodations.
Private Space:
The nanny will have a private bedroom and a full bathroom on the first floor.
Shared Space:
The kitchen space will be shared with the family.
Flexibility:
The nanny can live full-time in the provided accommodations and is not required to have an alternate residence. Qualifications The ideal candidate will be a career nanny with 5+ years of experience .
Essential Certifications:
Current Infant, Pediatric, and Adult CPR/First Aid certification is required.
Vaccinations:
Candidates should be open to vaccinations, including COVID, TDAP, and Flu.
Driving:
A valid driver’s license is required. While the family will provide a car for work duties, a nanny who prefers not to drive their own vehicle is preferred.
Personal Attributes:
The family values a nanny who is responsible, takes pride in their job, demonstrates a strong work ethic, and has a light-hearted demeanor. While swimming proficiency is a plus, it is not a deal-breaker. Must be at least 18 years or older to apply. Must be able to show proof of legal authorization to work in the US.
