This energetic, outdoorsy family loves exploring the world together—whether it’s strolling through the neighborhood, visiting the zoo, or discovering new corners of Pittsburgh and beyond. They’re big fans of hands-on, screen-free fun and have memberships to local favorites like the Carnegie Museums, Children’s Museum, Phipps, the Zoo, and the Toy Lending Library. In the summer, you’ll often find them at the pool. Story time and quality time are at the heart of their days, and they’re looking for a nanny who shares their love for adventure, curiosity, and connection.

IDEAL NANNY

The ideal nanny for this position is reliable , proactive , and engaging , with a natural love for working with children. They should be fun and creative , always ready to jump into imaginative play or plan a spontaneous adventure. A resourceful problem-solver , this caregiver knows how to keep things running smoothly and adapt to the needs of the day.

DAILY TASKS

: Providing attentive care to the child’s basic needs, including feeding, diapering/toileting, and nap routines. The nanny will engage the child in age-appropriate educational play, crafts, and early learning activities to support their development.

Additional responsibilities include maintaining a clean and organized environment for the children, managing their laundry, loading/unloading the dishwasher, and tidying up play areas. The nanny will also accompany the child to playgroups and outings that encourage social interaction.

Additional Duties:

Preparing simple, healthy meals and snacks for the children Notifying parents when supplies (diapers, wipes, snacks, etc.) are running low Sorting and setting aside outgrown clothing Occasionally unpacking and putting away food deliveries related to the children’s needs (e.g., fresh fruit) We’re looking for a nanny who takes initiative, communicates well, and supports a warm, engaging daily routine.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

We’re looking for the right long-term fit to become a valued part of our family. While we’re open to discussing the occasional weekend shift (approximately one weekend per month), we are generally unable to offer consistently shortened weekdays due to the structure of our work schedules.

Open, honest communication and mutual feedback are important to us. Candidates must be comfortable caring for sick children, as both parents work in healthcare and can’t always adjust their schedules last-minute.

Mom works 7 consecutive 12-hour hospital shifts, followed by 1-2 weeks with more flexibility, including some time at home. During those weeks, she may help with school pickups and enjoy time with the kids.
