Reservoir Road, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648 The Blair Regional YMCA currently has an opening for an Infant Room Assistant working with children 6 weeks to 1 year in a licensed child care setting. This position is Monday – Friday with a schedule varying between the hours of 6:30 AM- 5:30 PM, approximately 32-38 hours per week.

DUTIES:

Responsible for the following:

• Supervision of a group of children along with the infant room team.
• Ensuring the care, safety, and well-being of children assigned in his or her group
• Caring for children’s physical needs (including: feeding, diaper changes)
• Carrying out activities
• Supervising children’s play
• Maintaining a safe, clean, and pleasant environment
• Demonstrating increased understanding of child growth and development in working with children, recording activities, and talking with parents

SKILLS:

• Increased understanding of child growth and development
• Ability to role-model for children and volunteers
• Ability to apply an understanding of development levels to activities
• Ability to meet the social-emotional, physical and cognitive developmental need of children
• Self-assurance in holding and caring for very young children
• Ability to maintain a safe, clean, appropriate environment.
• General knowledge of nutrition, health, and first aid

EXPERIENCE

:

• High school diploma or its equivalent AND a CDA or two years experience working with children in a childcare setting.

Clearances required upon hire.
